
Mia Cecily Florin-Sefton
Mia Florin-Sefton is a Lecturer-in-Discipline in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. A specialist in post-1865 American literature and culture, her first book project is titled The Disinherited: A New Literary History of America. More broadly, her research and teaching interests span political economy, gender and sexuality studies, intellectual history, critical race theory, settler colonial and post-colonial studies, the history of the novel, critical university studies, carceral studies, and the politics of prison education.
